Bucko’s Den 1986

Location:Yorktown Heights, NY, USA

Ever wanted to see what a Commodore 64 BBS looked like in 1986?? In 1986, The Wrong Number Family Of BBS’ began it’s assent into the world of BBS’n. This BBS is what started the long journey into becoming what my stable of BBS’ are today. This BBS is run as it was in 1986 same software, same posts, everything is the exact same as when the BBS came down in 1987 to be replaced by the next version of C-Net BBS Software. This is truly a piece of nostalgia!! The only difference between this BBS and the one that ran in 1986 is this BBS has been updated to Y2K dates, and it is running at 19.2k instead of 300bps. Thanks to XLar54 and Gigino C-Net 10.0 lives again in 2022!! It is as stable as a 40 plus year old software can be, so if you can’t connect when you try, call back a little while later after I have rebooted it. The screen here says it is a part time BBS, it is running 24 hours 7 Days now.

It runs on a Emulated Commodore 64, 1541 Drive, and unlike back in the day a 1581 drive for the UD’s.
